About Me

My photo
I am 26 years old and learning more about myself every single day. More recently, my boyfriend (JD) and I have been on a quest to save our pennies by not eating out so often! ...Heck, maybe I'll even lose a few pounds in the process..? However, this also means I'll need to learn how to cook! I got the idea to start this blog from watching the movie Julie & Julia, but also from attempting a few recipes from a fellow blogger just this past weekend! I have tons of recipes I plan to test out... So, here goes nothin'! Enjoy! xo.

Crockpot Beef Stroganoff

It's been a while! I'm quickly trying to type this blog while I am able to steal internet access from our neighbors. :)

Super easy recipe... tried it out for dinner tonight and it was a huge success! This has got to be my favorite meal. I've tried a few different recipes, but this was by far the easiest and was just as good as all the others! I had found a basic recipe and made all of my own substitutions.  The original recipe called for 1/2 an onion chopped and a few other ingredients such as worcestire sauce... I loved the taste of mine, but I may try it the original way just for kicks... we'll see! JD rated it a 7 out of 10, which is pretty good considering he hates mushrooms. I'll take it! ;-)

Crockpot Beef Stroganoff
  • 1.5-2 lbs. stew beef, cubed
  • 1 large can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 packet Lipton Recipe Secrets Onion Mushroom Soup/Dip mix
  • 1 small jar sliced mushrooms
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 1 package wide egg noodles

Combine all ingredients into the crockpot, except the sour cream.  Cook on low setting for approximately 7 hours.  When ready to eat, boil the egg noodles for 8 minutes and stir sour cream into crockpot.  Once egg noodles are ready, spoon over egg noodles and serve! SO GOOD! Enjoy.
